The family of missing Spences Bridge resident Luke Neville has raised a billboard in the small Thompson River community to draw more attention to the case.
The billboard, installed Jan. 29, says, “Someone…knows something” and asks people with any information on Neville’s disappearance to contact Lytton RCMP.
The disappearance is considered to be suspicious, with Neville last being seen in the Spences Bridge area at approximately 4:30 pm on Oct. 9, 2017. He was driving a 2003 white Ford E250 van.
He was reported missing to Lytton RCMP the following day Oct. 10, and the van was subsequently located burned out on the Sackum Forest Service Road, approximately 20 kilometres from Spences Bridge.
“Investigators with the RCMP Southeast District Major Crime Unit explained to us that Luke may have met with foul play,” Neville’s brother Mark said in a statement at the billboard site. Mark Neville also said he believes Luke is dead. He said after 16 months of searching and waiting, he would like to bring his brother home to Ottawa, to bring closure to his family.
“I do believe he’s gone,” he explained. “I’m doing this for him. I have to find him for my mother, my other brothers.”
"Investigators with the RCMP Southeast District Major Crime continue to investigate Mr. Neville's disappearance," stated Cpl Dan Moskaluk last week.
"As is often the case, an individual’s circumstances can change with time, which might make it easier for a person or persons with information about Luke Neville’s disappearance to now come forward."
Police describe the missing man as:
- a Caucasian male, 48 years old
- 6'3"
- 200 lbs
- short grey hair
- brown eyes
- facial stubble/unshaven
- last observed wearing dark clothes and sunglasses
