Trevor Miller While rising utility rates are certainly a matter of concern, an important thing to remember is that we're still paying the second lowest rates in the country right now, substantially lower than Creighton residents pay SaskPower. If Mr. Pettersen is going to speak out on the issue, perhaps an important question to ask is whether the money coming into Manitoba Hydro from the sale of surplus capacity to the States is being put toward subsidizing customers' bills or going to pay interest to banks extending loans for expansion and added capacity in a system already running at a substantial surplus.
