Trevor Miller Overall, it seems council has hit the most important points, and on one particular point, I'm glad to see they are keeping our bus service going. Passing on a per-household scheme for funding police and fire services is the most glaring omission in my opinion; it hardly seems fair that many homeowners have a tax load that barely covers trash pickup, let alone policing and fire protection. Maybe next year's budget can find a compromise position on this. We'll have to wait and see.Ken Mansell Not a bad budget, but I still cannot understand why the public transit bus is a sacred cow. No need to downsize it, just get rid of it. The new walking track at the Whitney is a great addition and will no doubt see more traffic in a day than the bus carries all week. I hope no spring clean-up is offset by giving free trips to the dump like this year; another week in the fall would also be nice. Why not just make it free year-round, it sure would save a lot of trips to the bush like many are doing now.Denny Hyndman Based on visual observations of current and past projects, I feel that either a lack of expertise or inappropriate budgeting for projects has been an oversight. $1.41 million is probably not enough money to complete capital projects. If it's not, other things in Flin Flon suffer. Perhaps a voluntary third party review could be offered from those with expertise? I think nearly half the budget expended on wages and benefits is cause for immediate concern.
