Trevor Miller It probably won't be a popular decision when it comes time to pay for lessons and swim fees. The Aqua Center is an important community facility that needs funding. It will be difficult to consistently manage two-tiered fees for general swimming, but season and annual passes will be easy enough. Money not captured from non-residents might be made up in the general increase to lesson fees, which are still at a reasonable level. Nobody likes paying more for things, but hopefully everyone will see that this is a necessary step to keep services going. Ken Mansell 'The time has come,' the Walrus said, / 'To talk of many things: / Of shoes _ and ships _ and sealing-wax_ / Of cabbages _Êand kings _ / And why the sea is boiling hot _ / And whether pigs have wings.' _ Lewis Carroll And now that Flin Flon city council has the attention of all the oysters, talk will be more meaningful. We all must pay our fair share or stay out of the water. User fees may not be the only solution; if there are others the time has come. Denny Hyndman I agree that fees needed to be adjusted. Our community still has very cost-effective fees compared to what it costs to entertain a family out of town, I am sure most will concede. I agree with Coun. McKee's approach to recovering costs as an overhead fee by all, for all. It's relatively painless but there will always be those complaining, 'Why do I pay for something I do not use? ' Either way, the fees are still affordable, but I like her approach of keeping amenities user-friendly for the community, as opposed to drawing a divide between areas. The reality is, the town cannot afford to run our pool alone _ nor can we afford to lose it.
