What do YOU think?

Trevor Miller I guess it would be how good people are at sharing the good stuff they find and get involved with.

I guess it would be how good people are at sharing the good stuff they find and get involved with.

I couldn’t think of anything that doesn’t already have a group of boosters associated with it spreading the word so more people can enjoy the area’s attractions, groups and activities. The level of engagement in this region really stands out.

While it’s easy to live in some places and never know anything about some of the best things in the area, this area’s citizens do an outstanding job of promoting our attractions so that anyone looking for something to do or see has an easy time finding it.

The most obvious good thing about Flin Flon is the many talented people who reside here. The visual arts and musical talent are some of the best, bar none.

What is even nicer is that people have the opportunity to showcase much of their talent locally. Even more interesting is that this talent is, for the most part, homegrown.

Thanks to people such as Crystal and Mark Kolt, who have shared their gift of music with the community, people can hone their talents even more.

I would say that Flin Flon is definitely a cultural leader in the North.

Few people talk about the great trail system we have in our area. There are walking trails right from Princess Boulevard and the Perimeter to Flinty’s Submarine, connecting with the Boardwalk right up to North Avenue. The boardwalk is partially lighted and this past winter the snow was packed by the Ski Club with the Lions Club donating expenses.

There are also trails for skiers and snowmobilers that are among the best in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. They are well maintained and marked.

Many thanks to the  trail travelers who take time to pick up litter after those who are not as responsible.
