I used to think I liked Christmas, but now that I’ve got a three-year-old in my home, I realize I had no idea what it means to like Christmas a crazy preschooler amount.
It’s so much more fun with the little guy running around the house singing garbled Christmas carols and talking about how Santa is going to be here soon, but don’t tell him about the uneaten vegetables on the table.
As good as Christmas has always been, Preschooler Christmas is 10 times better.

Hands down, my favourite memories go back to my childhood.
There was not a lot of money in those days for a bunch of presents, but that held little importance for us then. What stayed with me, and does to this day, is the smell of Mom’s baking at Christmas, the fresh pine smell of the Christmas tree and of the many family friends that came calling over the holiday.
Though presents were hugely anticipated, they were quickly forgotten. Friends and family never were and I will always cherish that sense of family and kinship that enveloped me in those wonderful times.

I’d like to share “An American Poem, Is Canada Next ?”:
Twas the month before Christmas
When all through our land,
Not a Christian was praying
Nor taking a stand.
The children were told by their schools not to sing
About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.
It might hurt people’s feelings, the teachers would say
The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded
The reason for the season, stopped before it started.
So as you celebrate ‘Winter Break’ under your ‘Holiday Tree’
Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.
Choose your words carefully, choose what you say
Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS,
Not Happy Holiday!
