Trevor Miller Some of the biggest things our community offers are our central location, our existing infrastructure and the number of services we offer here that most other places in the North can't provide. For workers with young families, we offer a variety of schools, parks and facilities that lead the region, and we ought to go on developing that kind of thing to keep that advantage going. Going forward, something that could attract people would be promoting local events more broadly, or projects like renovating Phantom Lake to serve in some of the capacities it used to years ago. Ken Mansell Towns and cities face new challenges. They have to be proactive in shaping the necessary social, ecological and economic modernization. They should enjoy properly functioning public institutions and spaces, good educational establishments, attractive amenities and a wide range of cultural and leisure facilities. The main problems currently facing towns and cities are an aging and shrinking population, economic globalization and the changing economic environment. As a part-time home, Flin Flon currently has all the necessary amenities to attract the new workers of industry; however ,a shrinking population could eliminate many of our facilities and services. If the airport at Bakers should ever close, we are in trouble. Denny Hyndman We could do more to promote the things that keep our current residents here. The arts and theatre have always been exceptional, and it's growing. There are opportunities for new businesses, including home businesses. Even though we've seen business closures, there are always people who are big on entrepreneurship and willing take the risk. We should welcome new ideas, whether it's nuclear waste storage or building up fishing, campgrounds and tourism. The people here are hardy. We're northerners; we'll find a way.
