Parliament has resumed with the reading of the Speech from the Throne.
The Speech from the Throne outlines the government’s agenda for the upcoming session.
What was clear was the fact that the government lacks a focused plan for Canadians.
Our response has been clear. For seven years they’ve failed to take action to help consumers. Now they have copied some of our consumer agenda. The government is mired in ethical scandals – and is now trying to use consumer issues to hide their inaction, misconduct and economic mismanagement.
Youth unemployment is growing and there are nearly 300,000 more people unemployed today than before recession, The Throne Speech failed to lay out a jobs plan or take concrete action to create good middle class jobs while Canadian families face uncertain economic times.
It will take more than copying some of our consumer policies to make Canadians forget about the Senate expense scandal.
Canadians can see through these cynical tactics. We need a government that puts Canadians first and give the middle-class a fair break.
