Aldon Kowalchuk has resigned his position on town council effective Nov. 30, so it looks like Snow Lake is gearing up for a by-election.

Aldon Kowalchuk has resigned his position on town council effective Nov. 30, so it looks like Snow Lake is  gearing up for a by-election.

Snow Lake chief administrative officer Jordan Willner provided the following information about how the by-election will work.

Council considered a resolution setting the date of the by-election at the Dec. 15, 2015 meeting. 

The election date will likely be set for Feb.17, 2016, with advance polls held on
Feb. 12, 2016. 

The campaign period will run from Dec. 16, 2015 to Feb. 17, 2016.

The nomination period will run from Jan. 6, 2016 to Jan. 12, 2016.

Registration forms will be available at the Snow Lake Town Office starting Dec. 16, 2015.

Notice of registration will occur on Dec.16, 2015.  

Notice of nominations will occur between Dec. 16, 2015 and Dec. 30, 2015 via general mailout, and we will have a new council member on the morning of Feb. 18, 2016.
