It came to light at a recent meeting of Snow Lake town council that the local minor hockey organization is considering use of the arena for some off-season sports.
The group is studying in-line hockey, as well as broomball or ball hockey as possibilities. They have a proposal in this regard before the council.
At the same meeting, council was informed that the Lawrie Marsh Hall has taken delivery of new chairs for the building.
Council decreed that all new chairs, as well as tables, are not to leave the hall for reasons not firstly and formally authorized by council resolution.
This, they say, is to ensure a maximum useful lifespan for both hall users and the ratepayers of the Town of Snow Lake.
