During the recent celebration of Manitoba Mining Week at the Snow Lake Mining Museum (SLMM), the facility accepted monetary donations of $1,000 from Atlas Copco, $750 from Hudbay, $500 from MacLean Engineering, $500 from VMS Ventures and a lunch that was served from USW Local 7106.
SLMM chairman Paul Hawman also presented a 20-year service award to the only curator the establishment has ever known, Dori Forsyth.
He noted that the SLMM was very fortunate to have such a dedicated person and that she has always gone over and above what was required.
Those in attendance confirmed their agreement with applause.
