As previously reported, Snow Lake celebrated the 26th annual Winter Whoot over the weekend of March 13 to 15.
It was great to have the mild temperatures in order to enjoy some of the festival’s many outdoor activities.
That said, one fun event, Human Curling, had to be cancelled due to the watery surface of Brentwood Rink.
Still, everything from Friday’s Ice Worm Hunt to the Sunday’s Hall Activities went off without a hitch.
Whoot organizer and Snow Lake Mayor Kim Stephen said that other than the Human Curling, the 2015 Whoot was a resounding success.
She said that attendance was comparable, but down a bit from 2014, which was the 25th annual installment.
“Money-wise, we are just about even with last year,” she said. “But we won’t know for sure until we pay all our bills. I’m thinking around $2,000 for profit.”
Stephen says that the Winter Whoot Committee is currently looking for event ideas and volunteers for next year!
