My Take on Snow Lake: Grey Cup coming to town

Late in August, Mayor Kim Stephen advised that she had something in the works that could secure a visit by the Canadian Football League’s Grey Cup to the community.

Late in August, Mayor Kim Stephen advised that she had something in the works that could secure a visit by the Canadian Football League’s Grey Cup to the community.

She was fine-tuning the event with the organizers of a northern tour of the fabled trophy and would confirm dates, times, venues and activities once everything fell into place.

Well, the time is now and the date is Tuesday, October 20.

Stephen advised there would be a number of people accompanying the Cup, not the least of whom are Winnipeg Blue Bombers alumni Doug Brown and Brett McNeil!

While here, the Cup and those accompanying it will visit the local school, tour the town and area, and be on hand for a community gathering and BBQ at the Lawrie Marsh Hall. Times will be advertised and posted as the date draws nearer.

My Take on Snow Lake runs Fridays.
