At the Dec. 15 regular meeting of Snow Lake’s town council, Mayor Kim Stephen accepted a cheque for $7,000 from Greenstone Community Futures director Rupert Klyne.
The money will be used to purchase and install an oil recycle depot at the Snow Lake landfill.
In handing over the cheque, Klyne noted that anyone doubting the need for the facility should take a look at the bucket on the town loader after it finishes pushing the dump.
“It is dripping with oil,” said Klyne.
Mayor Stephen voiced the community’s appreciation to Greenstone for its generous grant.
