CUPE 8600 (Canadian Union of Public Employees) held an Easter Basket Drive during the month of March.
Items from the drive were donated to the Snow Lake Family Resource Centre and from there to families in need as Easter treats for their children.
Union members say that even though Snow Lake is an active community, where most people work for Hudbay, there are still those families in need of the little extras.
“Working in such a small facility brings all workers together and soon there were donations from Manitoba Nurses Union, Manitoba Association of Health Care Professionals, administration staff and people from the public who generously donated to this cause,” said CUPE 8600’s Kim Burton.
CUPE 8600 is the union that represents Snow Lake Health Centre workers such as clinic, kitchen, laundry, cleaning, maintenance and workers who support nursing staff.
