As an opposition MP, I have often said there is a lot to oppose with the current federal government. It is also important to put forward alternatives that can work.
Pensions are one example. We have been critical of the government’s move to force Canadians to have to wait until 67 to retire. At the same time we have put forward a plan to enhance our public pension plan.
Similarly we have been critical of the government’s record on labour issues. We have put forward a plan that would establish a minimum wage of $15 an hour for workers under federal jurisdiction.
We have been critical of the government’s plan to cut rural postal service and eliminate door-to-door delivery. We have put forward alternatives that would strengthen our public postal service and maintain service.
In the upcoming months we will be announcing more proposals on the issues that matter to Canadians and their families.
Canadians are looking for a real alternative that provides real solutions. That is exactly what we are putting forward.
