Dear Editor,

It is with great disbelief and sadness that I have been informed that Creighton is being considered for a nuclear waste dump.

My concern is not only the risks involved in the mode of transportation and the repercussions should ever an error occur, human or not, but also, what does the future look like for the geography of the area in 50, 60, 70 years?

We are are so very fortunate to have such a beautiful, mostly untouched, landscape in this part of the world. I believe such a waste site of very dangerous material has the potential to forever change that.

If you aren’t convinced of the damage that can occur from such a project, drive by Ross Lake for a reminder of what was once, many years ago, an accessible beautiful lake for families to enjoy swimming and outdoor activities. That is until the environmental damage from the mines occurred.
