Dear Editor, Call me one of the "silent majority." I am definitely in favour of a high school in Creighton. I also voted for the school board and think they are doing a fine job. I started in Creighton School in 1953 and spent many years there before leaving for Hapnot in the ninth grade. I have some fond memories of Creighton School and the teachers. My four children also attended Creighton School and now several of my grandchildren attend. As it stands, we are Saskatchewan residents and pay taxes here, not in Flin Flon. So many people speak of the board springing the high school on them. This is not a new issue. It's been here before. What is holding off for a year going to do? Are those people who are against a high school going to change their minds? I think not. I rode the bus four times a day and walked from the Flin Flon Post Office to the old Hapnot school. I did not enjoy rushing to my classroom, grabbing my books, and then rushing to my other classes. Rhonda Werbicki stated in her letter that she was taught that the "majority rules." Yes, it does, and we proved that by voting for our school board. Now we have to respect their decision. People shouldn't really say too much about what's right and what's wrong about this school. It has to be experienced first. People who are unhappy with the board always have the power of their vote, and so many do not use this privilege. Are we afraid of change? It happens around us all the time. Maybe this is the year to move forward. Cynthia Fedak Creighton
