Dear Editor In response to the article on problem quadding, I am a resident of Flin Flon who happens to live on Third Avenue. I own a quad and used to have two skidoos. I do, however, have to travel on the main roads in order to get to the trails by Centoba Park or by North Avenue. I do follow safety rules: always wear a helmet, let traffic have the right away, use hand signals, and use only necessary time on the major roads. In my time living on Third Avenue - especially now that the roads aren't full of dips and holes - I have noticed an extreme amount of people racing in vehicles up the hill (with no concern of a major crosswalk and park on the top of the hill). Does this mean the police or city should forbid vehicles to use the hills? I don't believe so but would like to see the city allow quads to use major roads as do the skidoos to get us to the trails. Charge those who abuse quadding as you do for vehicles. I think there should be a safe quadding course for kids 12 to 16 just as there was for skidoo. Both my boys took this course and while under my care were not allowed on my skidoo without adult supervision. If a quadding course were offered there may be less careless quad drivers out there. Please don't let a few irresponsible people ruin quadding for us who don't abuse the rules but just want to get out to enjoy the trails that go through the bush and get to the lakes in the terrific surrounding area. Thank you for allowing me to express my views. Ð Brenda McDuffee
