Dear Editor: Attention Trapline Helpers This letter is to inform all helpers on traplines that if they think that the trapline will automatically go to them - NOT TRUE!! The government has just this year come up with a point system of awarding traplines. You may have been helping on a line for many years and someone else can come along and take that line. All of your hard work and effort will be down the drain. This has happened to one helper who has trapped with the line holder for 18 years. He helped to take care of the line like it was his own, because that's the way it always worked. The helper always got the line if he was doing his job. Now with this new system anyone can apply and especially if he lives close to where the line is. Pressure has to be put on government to change this new system. It is totally unfair to someone who has worked years, supposing in the end, that the trapline will be theirs. Respectfully, Marino Sigurdson
