Regarding the photograph of the knitting group at Heritage Manor in the March 25 Reminder, some clarification is needed. This is a group of ladies who meet on a drop- in basis at the manor in order to socialize with residents and to work on knitted or crochet projects. Some ladies work on their own projects while others make squares in support of two different charities. These are Blankets for Canada, which uses the squares to make blankets to be donated to families who have lost homes or contents through fire or other tragedies, to the Salvation Army or to shelters. The other charity we support is Knit a Square, a South African group which sews the squares into blankets to be given to Aids orphans of whom they tell us there are over 4 million in South Africa alone. If there is anybody with left over yarn who wishes to donate to our group, it would be appreciated and put to good use. Please label donations 'for the knitting group' and drop off in the porch at the manor or meet us on any Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. Thank you Diane Rutherford
