Dear Editor, I would like to take the opportunity to clear up a misunderstanding some people have regarding your article on Bakers Narrows Day in Wednesday, April 16, 2008Õs paper. The Flin Flon Lions Club did not make their decision to stop running Bakers Narrows Day lightly or recently. At our regular meeting on June 13, 2007 we discussed and eventually came to the sad decision to give the Trout Festival Committee notice of our decision to no longer run Bakers Narrows Day for them. Due to the lack of public support (spectators and participants) we felt we could no longer run a successful event. This decision was followed up with a letter to the Trout Festival Committee on June 25, 2007 of our unfortunate (regrettable) decision. Public support for Bakers Narrows Day dwindled to a low of 300 people last year compared to highs of over 800 in previous years. I would like to thank the public and the Chamber of Commerce for supporting and running Bakers Narrows Day over the years. Richard French President, Flin Flon Lions Club
