Dear Editor: I would like to express a complaint about the deplorable state of our roads due to the lack of snow removal, particularly in the uptown region. I have witnesses 80- and 90-year-old seniors trying to straddle frozen snow banks in an effort to get from a vehicle to a sidewalk. A broken hip or leg could be not only painful but life threatening for them. This is not only dangerous but is an insulting way for them to be treated. If this really is a "City of Compassion" let us make it a safe place for them. Sincerely, Wanda Bateman
