Editor: Less than a year ago I befriended a wild fox by giving him food scraps from our kitchen. He showed himself quite often and before long he showed up just about everyday. The wild ones seem to catch on soon where the handouts are pretty steady. He became quite tame and wouldn't run away when I showed myself. He soon became accustomed to my presence and would come quite close when I showed him some food. The wild ones also seem to feel they will not be harmed and trust becomes more common. I would sit down on the step and show him food in my hand. Each day he would come closer. I had some chicken pieces and some had skin on it so I dangled a piece toward him and he actually took it from my hand. From that day on he knew I would not harm him. Each day after he would let me feed him by hand. He has become a real good friend and shows up nearly everyday. Usually each morning quite early and quite often in the evening. He lays on the grass and awaits my presence for his grub. He is a special wild pet and we are getting to appreciate him more each day. Here is a picture my wife took of the two of us. He is a great little guy! ? Steve Person
