Editor: Last week together with my wife Gill we had the opportunity of visiting Ken and Kathi Dowding, and son Aaron who was in town on a visit from Calgary. It was just great to see them again after quite a few years, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this lovely part of Canada, although it was all too brief. The Boardwalk is a great addition to the city's amenities - it is a lovely walk and the views from on top of the "rocks" are quite stunning. No bears though, which was quite disappointing - well for us anyway. The top end of the walk, opposite the mine works could do with a make over - even a tidy up would be nice. But there was something missing in Flin Flon! This is not our first visit, and I hope not our last, but there was no "Welcome" to Flin Flon on the road entering from Le Pas. Where was our jolly man, with his cheery welcome? We found him of course, but why is he parked off the beaten track, and not on the roadside welcoming everyone? Even if those in power decide not to reinstate him, could they at least erect a sign with a "Welcome", as it is a long way from anywhere to Flin Flon, especially Cambridge, England, and it would be nice to have a welcome to somewhere rather than just arrive anywhere! Best wishes to everyone in Flin Flon. ? Ray and Gill Dowding from Royston, near Cambridge, England
