Dear Editor, As the owner of three cats, I was appalled at the scene which greeted me on Sunday, March 14. On a side road off the Hanson Lake Road, there were four kittens huddled in the middle of the road. Two others lay dead. One of the four kittens had an ugly scalp wound. These poor kittens were cold and hungry, meowing and running towards me. I quickly gathered them up, took them home, then phoned the SPCA that I was bringing them in. To the person or persons who did this, how can you be so heartless towards a helpless animal? Why do you own a pet if you cannot look after it properly? In this day and age, why isn't your female cat spayed? You should have someone take you out to an isolated area and see how you could fend for yourself with no food or shelter. Thank goodness for hard working, devoted and caring people such as Debbie at Stillwater Kennels. Without the SPCA so many unwanted animals would be in dire straits. I own two SPCA cats and they have brought us many hours of cute antics and love. It troubles me to think that someone else thought they were garbage to be thrown away. Ð Cynthia Fedak
