Manitoba’s NDP is in disarray as renegade MLAs attempt to force Premier Greg Selinger’s ouster.
They believe that anger over last year’s PST hike – an NDP policy, not just a Selinger policy – will subside once the premier is gone.
But the PST hike is only part of the story. In reality, all governments, with the possible exception of the seemingly immortal PCs of Alberta, have a shelf life.
After 15 years in power, the internal bickering that has destroyed so many other governments from within is taking hold in Manitoba.
Replacing Selinger would only go so far.
