Student heritage fair group wins four awards

A group of Flin Flon students are coming home with honours after the recent Red River Heritage Fair in Winnipeg.

The students with Ruth Betts Community School and École McIsaac School brought home a total of four awards from the annual fair, including honours for research and responsibility.

Addisen Neill won two awards, including the Manitoba Genealogical Society Family History Award and the Manitoba Museum Award for projects dealing with Manitoba history.

The duo of Cassidy Alexander and Niki Keramydas won an award for the third consecutive year at the Winnipeg fair. The pair earned the KGS Group Sustainable Development Award for a project on local, national or global sustainability, while Callie Erickson’s project earned her the Heritage from the Heart award.

The group toured the Manitoba Legislative Building and Dalnavert House while in Winnipeg.

Students from Flin Flon have participated in the Red River Heritage Fair for five years, often returning home with awards and honours.
