Snow Lake under precautionary boil water advisory due to pending water system work

Water system maintenance in Snow Lake will put the community under a precautionary boil water advisory, starting Friday morning.

A public notice for the boil water advisory was issued August 6, citing work on the town's water system and a possible loss of water pressure throughout the community as part of the construction. The advisory will go into effect at 8 a.m. August 7.

"Distribution depressurization can compromise the safety of the water supply," reads the notice.

Water used for drinking or ice making, preparing food or drinks or for brushing teeth should be brought to a boil for a minute before cooling and using. Other household uses for water, including in laundry or washing dishes, can continue on as normal.

The advisory will stay in effect until water tests from the community's water supply turns up no risks to public health.
