Manitoba finished processing 990 COVID-19 tests. Out of that group, two people tested positive August 5 - a woman in her 20s and a man in his 30s, both from Winnipeg.

Manitoba is up to 94 active cases of the disease with the two new cases and up to 444 total people who have contracted the disease since the pandemic began. Nine Manitobans remain in hospital, with five people currently in intensive care.

Things were, as has become typical, different in Saskatchewan. Eight new people have now tested positive for the disease, with the cases spread throughout the province. Three cases were found in the northeast region, with two each in Saskatoon and Regina and one in the central west region.

Along with the new cases came a string of new recoveries - 36, to be precise. Throughout Saskatchewan, 225 people still have COVID-19. Since the pandemic started, 1,376 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Saskatchewan.

Two Regina businesses have been found by the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) as locations of possible transmission for COVID-19. Anyone who attended a Best Buy between 1 p.m.-4 p.m. July 28 or Cellicon on the Cornwall Centre mall between 4 p.m.-5 p.m. July 29 is asked to monitor for symptoms for two weeks from the date in question.

Currently, there are only four active cases remaining in the whole far north region, each in the western portion of the north. Including communities in far north and northern regions, 55 people in north and far north Saskatchewan still have COVID-19.
