Sask. reports 19th COVID-19 death, 31 new recoveries from disease

Another person in Saskatchewan has died from COVID-19.

The province's 19th death from the disease was reported by provincial health officials August 6. The person who died was a person in their 70s from Regina.

News of the person's death came on the same day as 11 new cases were announced in Saskatchewan - nine in the south central region, one in Saskatoon and one in the south west. Ten of the 11 newly infected people were from what the province called "communal living situations." Thirteen people with COVID-19 are currently in Saskatchewan hospitals, with six people now in intensive care.

Along with the 11 new cases came news of 31 more recoveries from COVID-19, bringing the province's number of active cases down to 204. Since the pandemic started, 1,387 people in Saskatchewan have been infected with COVID-19.
