Jingle all the way – old St. Nick is coming back for another season later this week.

Flin Flon’s annual Santa Claus parade is set for Nov. 28, starting at 6 p.m and moving down Main Street.

The parade is presented by The Reminder and Arctic Radio.

“We're feeling pretty good about it,” parade organizer Dianne Russell said.

“It's our second year having it on a Thursday, which tends to make it much easier for businesses to commit to being part of the event. I'm excited because of my recent visits to businesses and being able to explain to them that as exciting as parades are, they’re only as exciting as the people who enter.”

Russell has been taking entries from businesses around the community, including signups at The Reminder offices.

“The great thing about the Santa Claus parade is it's a parade of light, which means you do not have to create an entire float,” she said.

“You just have to put in an inverter and plug in some lights and throw them around a vehicle and you're great.”

Parade floats need to be in the Hudbay exploration and development parking lot across from the Flin Flon Community Hall 30 minutes before the parade starts.

“It's so easy,” Russell said.

“A few of [the participants] were really happy to hear that because I think sometimes people hear parade and they get a little overwhelmed.”

While Russell wasn’t able to say how many floats would be in the parade, she did confirm the main attraction will be there.

“I know we got a hold of Santa this week and Santa is able to fit in coming to Flin Flon for the parade,” she said.

“He was able to squeeze us in, he’s very busy.”

The Christmas season for Main Street businesses will be punctuated by Moonlight Madness. The annual holiday shopping event will take place after nightfall Dec. 14.
