Flin Flon’s first legal cannabis retail outlet is a step closer to being established.
Garden Variety Cannabis has 90 days to reach an agreement with the province through Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries to sell in the area. Garden Variety Cannabis was drawn as the primary option for Flin Flon and according to a provincial official, has confirmed with the Manitoba government that they are interested in opening a store in Flin Flon.
According to the company’s website, Garden Variety is a partnership of the Fisher River Cree Nation, Chippewas of the Thames First Nation, Avana Canada, MediPharm Labs and Native Roots Dispensary. Native Roots was named the best dispensary in Colorado by the Cann Awards in 2016.
Garden Variety has two stores open in Manitoba, both in Winnipeg. Their website says they have four years of experience selling cannabis in Colorado through their partners.
