Over a hundred windows, computers smashed in Frontier Collegiate break-in, man arrested

Cranberry Portage RCMP are investigating and an arrest has been made after dozens of computers and windows were smashed at Frontier Collegiate. RCMP were called to the school June 29 around 3:30 a.m. after reports of a disturbance.

RCMP were called to the school June 29 around 3:30 a.m. after reports of a disturbance. Officers arriving on scene discovered broken windows throughout the school and extensive damage to the school's computer lab.

In total, RCMP estimate 105 windows were smashed at the school, with vandals then making their way into the school's computer lab and destroying 42 computers inside. Total damage from the spree is estimated by police to be around $200,000.

RCMP arrested an unidentified 27-year-old man June 30 in relation to the incident. The man faces charges of breaking and entering, mischief over $5,000 and possessing break-in instruments.

Police are continuing to investigate the crime.

Frontier School Division has not issued a comment on the break-in.
