Voters in Flin Flon will have a chance to hear from every name on the ballot later this month for the upcoming provincial election.

All four confirmed candidates in the Flin Flon constituency - NDP incumbent Tom Lindsey, Progressive Conservative (PC) Theresa Wride, Manitoba Liberal Party candidate James Lindsay and Green Party nominee Saara Murnick - will be at a public candidate forum at Flin Flon City Hall August 26, starting at 7 p.m.

The forum will be held by the Flin Flon and District Chamber of Commerce. Dave Kendall, treasurer for the chamber, will moderate the discussion. The event will be open to the public and will be livestreamed on The Reminder’s Facebook page.

In addition to the forum, The Reminder has sent questionnaires to each candidate to show their platforms and priorities. The results from the questionnaires will be published in our August 28 edition.

Premier Brian Pallister confirmed the election timeframe and officially declared the start of the election campaign on August 12 at 2:00 p.m. The election will take place Sept. 10.
