Flin Flon RCMP Report: Very drunk drivers, attempted public urination and bears

A summary of calls to police from July 26-August 1, as submitted by Flin Flon RCMP:

July 26

Report of windows being broken on a person’s trailer. The complainant did not want charges laid in the matter.

While on patrol, police located two intoxicated people near a business. Both were too intoxicated to care for themselves therefore were both arrested and lodged.

Report of rocks being thrown against a window. Patrols were made but the rock throwers were not located.

Report of a child leaving a residence without permission. The child returned home a short time later.

Report of a bear just hanging around, probably waiting for its bear friends to have a bear party.

Report of intoxicated people knocking on the door of a residence then threatening to cause damage to the residence when the owner would not let them in. Patrols were made and the subjects of complaint were not located.

Report of a fight at a local campground. Police attended and learned the cause of the issue had left.

Report of an armed robbery. One person was located, arrested, charged and remanded in custody. A youth is still being sought in connection with the robbery.

Police requested to escort a patient at the hospital back to their residence as they did not feel safe walking. Safe passage was provided.

July 27

Report of a break and enter to a residence. Suspect entered through an unlocked door and stole various items.

Report of an assault that took place last week. Matter is under investigation.

Report of a youth breaking a window of a relative’s home. Matter under investigation.

Report of an intoxicated person in a residence needing to be removed. Police attended and arrested and lodged the subject of complaint.

Report of an intoxicated person passed out along the boardwalk. Police located the person who was now awake and could walk and talk fine. Of course, the person was at the bottom of the large staircase on a very hot day...

Report of an intoxicated person being loud in a residence. Police attended but no one would answer the door when police arrived.

Report of an intoxicated person trying to fight people.

Report of an intoxicated person expressing ideations of self harm. Police located the person who was lodged in cells to be assessed when sober.

Report of an intoxicated person refusing to leave a residence when being asked. Police attended and the person still would not leave. They were arrested and lodged.

July 28

Report of a person having been assaulted. Police attended and found two intoxicated people in the area, but neither would say who assaulted them or now. Both too intoxicated to care for themselves and both were arrested and lodged.

While on patrol, police came into contact with a very intoxicated person trying doors to businesses despite all obviously being closed for business. The person was too intoxicated to care for themselves therefore they were arrested and lodged.

Report of American tourists camping nearby. The complainant was referred to the COVID-19 complaint line.

Report of a person threatening another person. Police spoke to the complainant who was unable to provide any evidence to substantiate their claims.

Report of a break and enter to a residence where household items including a firearm were taken. Matter is under investigation.

Report of a young child running around a store barefoot and unattended. Police attended and reunited the little Houdini with their worried parent.

Report of an intoxicated person trying to fight bushes with a stick. Police locate the person as described who was arrested and lodged.

Report of a person reporting a sexual assault. Matter is under investigation.

July 29

Report of a strong odour coming from a back alley. The caller was concerned the smell could be something decomposing. Police attended and traced the smell back to a dumpster - nothing suspicious.

Report of an intoxicated person in the street. Police made patrols but could not locate them..

Report of a person passed out on the steps of a residence. Ambulance beat police to the scene and the person was transported to hospital.

Police requested to conduct a COVID-19 compliance check on a Flin Flon resident. Police completed the same and there were no concerns.

Report of intoxicated people drinking alcohol in front of a local bank. Police attended and arrested and lodged 3 people.

Police were requested to check on the wellbeing of a person as their friend had concerns. Police completed the check and no concerns were noted.

Report of a person expressing ideations of self harm. The person was taken to hospital where they were assessed by medical professionals.

Report from a person reporting what they believed was criminal behaviour, however it was not.

Report of an intoxicated person trying to fight a dog. Police made patrols but could not locate the person - the dog was located, though.

Report of an intoxicated person having been medically cleared by hospital but too intoxicated to care for themselves. Police drove the person to a sober friend’s residence.

July 30

Report of an intoxicated person “attempting” to urinate on a sidewalk. Police made patrols but did not locate the unsure urinator.

Report of an intoxicated person passing out in front of a local business. Police attended and located the person now passed out. They were arrested and lodged.

Report of an intoxicated person passed out beside a local business. Police attended and found the person as described who was arrested and lodged.

Multiple reports of a wanted person in a residence. Police attended and searched the residence however did not locate the person.

July 31

Report of a dispute between family members where one tried to assault the other with a bat but struck out. The batter was arrested and sent to the dugout, known as cells. No charges to be laid as per the complainant.

Report of a suspicious person possibly following people on foot on Main Street.

While on patrol, police located an intoxicated person too intoxicated to care for themselves. They were arrested and lodged for their own safety.

Report of two intoxicated people passed out in a parking lot. Police made patrols but could not locate the pair.

Report of an intoxicated person walking into vehicles then passing out. Police located the person who was arrested and lodged.

Report of an impaired driver. Police located the vehicle and arrested the driver. Breath samples were obtained which results in the driver blowing over 4 times the legal limit. The person was released to appear in court at a later date.

Report of an intoxicated person refusing to leave a hotel lobby. Police attended but the person was now gone.

Report of a group of people trying to goad another person into a fight.

Report of an intoxicated person trying to fight someone outside a residence. Police attended but all was fine.

August 1

Report of an intoxicated person stumbling on the highway. Police made patrols but could not locate the person.

Report of a vehicle speeding. That was the only detail provided.

Report of a disturbance in a residence. Police attended and learned it was a family dispute. Everyone agreed to get along and go to bed.

While on patrol, police located two intoxicated people too intoxicated to care for themselves. Both were arrested and lodged.

Report of an intoxicated person in a residence refusing to leave when asked. Police attended and found the person as described, still refusing to leave. Police arrested, removed and lodged the person.
