Flin Flon RCMP Report: Taking it down from an eight to a four

A summary of calls to police from May 10-16, as submitted by Flin Flon RCMP:

May 10

Report of a suspicious vehicle parking in the bushes. Police located the parked vehicle and spoke to the occupant who advised that a group of friends were playing hide and go seek with their vehicles.

Report of three intoxicated people passed out on a pathway. Police attended and located all 3 people as described who were all arrested and taken into custody.

Report of a group of intoxicated people drinking behind a residence. Police attended but did not locate the trio.

May 11

Report of a break and enter to a residence where electronics and other household items were taken. Matter under investigation.

Report of an intoxicated person in a residence starting arguments with people and refusing to leave. Police attended and found the person still on scene who was arrested and lodged.

Report of a child’s birthday party where the caller believed the party was contravening social distancing rules. When police checked it out the party was over.

Report of vehicles not obeying a stop sign at an intersection. Police attended and conducted enforcement however everyone was property stopping.

Report of a suspicious person in a trailer park. Police made patrols and found no such person.

Report of an intoxicated person sitting in sand. Police found the person who was arrested and lodged.

Report of tools being stolen from a vehicle. Matter under investigation.

Report of threats being uttered over the phone. The complainant just wanted the person to not call back.

Report of a vehicle being taken without permission. The vehicle was later returned and the complainant did not want charges laid.

Report of an intoxicated person arguing with people in a residence. When police arrived, the person who was arguing was now asleep. The homeowner agreed to let the subject of complaint continue to sleep there.

Report of a person breaching their no contact conditions however investigation revealed no breach occurred.

Report of two intoxicated people near the liquor store. Police located both on scene as described who were arrested and lodged.

Report of people trespassing on mine owner property however when police arrived there was no one on scene.

Report of a possible domestic at a residence however when police arrived the lone occupant was confused as to why police were there.

Report of an intoxicated person trashing a residence. Police attended and arrested and lodged the one-person mosh pit.

May 12

Report of a domestic assault at a residence. Police attended and the suspect ran away. The suspect was later located and arrested and released on a potential future court date.

Report of an attempted identity fraud. Matter under investigation.

Report of a break and enter to a garage however the owner was unsure when it occurred.

While on patrol, police observed two very intoxicated people too intoxicated to care for themselves. Police arrested and lodged both.

Report of kids running around a busy street. Police attended but the parent of the child was able to wrangle them.

Report of an intoxicated person sleeping underneath a vehicle in a parking lot. Police attended and located the person as described who was arrested and lodged.

Report of an intoxicated person passed out in an ATM vestibule. Police attended and found the person as described who was arrested and lodged.

Report of a fight in progress. Police attended and spoke to the victim who did not want police to be involved in the matter.

May 13

Report of loud music coming from a residence. The music was at about an 8 and police advised the homeowner it should be at about a 4. The homeowner complied.

Report of a dispute between neighbours. When police arrived the problem had resolved itself.

Report of a couple giving into their carnal urges in a back alley.

Report of suspicious people hanging around near a garage.

Report of an intoxicated person having attended a residence and caused a disturbance. When police called the complainant back, the subject of complaint was already gone.

May 14

Report of an intoxicated person passed out in front of a business. Police attended, scooped up the person and lodged them in cells.

Report of a missing child, however the parents found the child shortly after making the call.

While on patrol, police located an intoxicated person passed out on a sidewalk. Police arrested and lodged the person.

While on patrol, police observed a person known to be on warrant status operating a motor vehicle. Police caught up to the vehicle, however the driver fled on foot. The occupants left in the vehicle had a small quantity of drugs on them which were destroyed. Of note, the occupants were barking at police, which was super scary.

Report of an intoxicated person bothering people in a residence. Police attended and located the person still on scene. The person was arrested and lodged.

May 15

Report of an intrusion alarm at a local learning establishment. Police attended and cleared the building but the suspects had already left. Matter under investigation.

Report of brouhaha in the street. Patrols were made but police could not locate the brouhaha-ers.

Report of a fight near the liquor store.

Report of a hit and run to a vehicle. Police located the suspect vehicle and the driver. It was learned that the driver had an outstanding warrant for their arrest. Police took the person into custody who was later released on a future court date.

Report of a very intoxicated person walking down a hill.

Report of a person having a party with more than 10 people present.

Report of a shoplifting complaint. Matter under investigation

Report of a person trespassing at an abandoned building. Police located a person in the area which matched the description of the suspect. Checks show the person was breaching court ordered conditions therefore they were arrested, lodged and later released on a future court date.

Report of a person unable to get into their assisted living building. Police did not attend as the building is always staffed.

Report of an intoxicated person at the hospital expressing ideations of self harm however they are too intoxicated to be assessed. Police attended and arrested and lodged the person for their own safety.

May 16

Report of youth’s arguing on the street. Police attended and found a young couple arguing. One of the participants was given a ride home.

Report of a group of youths yelling around an apartment complex. Police attended and found the groups who were told to shush and go home.

Multiple calls received of a person refusing to leave a grocery store and bother customers and staff within. The person kept returning and was eventually arrested and lodged to prevent a continuation of the offence.

While on patrol, police located a very intoxicated person walking uptown. The person was arrested and lodged due to their intoxicated state.

Report of a group of people yelling at one another uptown. Police made patrols but did not locate the subjects of complaint.

Report of a structure fire at a residence. Police and fire attended and the fire was extinguished. Investigation revealed the fire was deliberately set and a person was arrested in relation to the offence. The matter is under investigation.

Report of a family dispute between adult siblings where threats were uttered. The subject of complaint was arrested and lodged however their sibling did want them charged.
