A summary of police calls from August 2-8, as submitted by Flin Flon RCMP:

 

August 2

Report of a stranded motorist on the highway with only a 911 prefix cell phone. Police attended and provided the person a ride back home.

Report of an assault. Police attended and spoke to the caller who advised that no assault took place - they said they only did it as they were mad at their housemate.

Report of a cat on a pole. The cat came down - hopefully, it doesn’t come back the very next day.

Report of an impaired driver. Police located the vehicle and arrested the driver for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. The driver refused to provide breath samples. The person was released to appear in court at a later date.

Report of a party in the bushes. Police attended and shooed the group away.

A 911 hang-up call was received from a residence. Police attended and spoke to the homeowner who said someone was causing problems but they aren’t anymore.

Police requested to keep the peace during a child exchange.

Report of an armed robbery at a local store. Police attended and were able to identify the suspects. One adult male was arrested, remanded in custody and later released. Another youth male was later arrested and remanded and held in custody.

Report of an intoxicated person in a residence scaring kids.

 

August 3

Report of a disagreement between neighbours which results in a vehicle being kicked.

Report of a person making threats of self-harm. Police spoke to the person who advised they made the statements out of anger.

Report of a vehicle colliding with a house. Police attended and it seems the cause of the collision was a mechanical malfunction.

Report of a grass fire and some youths walking away from the same looking suspicious. Matter under investigation.

Report of an intoxicated person expressing ideations of self-harm. Police attended and arrested and lodged the person for their own safety, pending a mental health assessment when sober.

 

August 4

Report of a group of people yelling in the street. Police attended and the situation calmed itself.

Report of a vehicle being damaged intentionally over a dispute between pets.

Police requested to assist Child Family Services with a house check.

Report of an intoxicated person passed out in front of a business. Police attended and arrested and lodged the passed-out person.

Report of a group of people drinking behind a business. Police attended and dumped out their booze, which was considered sufficient punishment.

Report of intoxicated people in a residence causing issues. Police attended and arrested three individuals. Two of the three, a youth and an adult, resisted police. All three were lodged and the two resistors were later released to appear in court at a later date.

 

August 5

Report of a vehicle driving erratically in a back lane. Police made patrols but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Report from a person who could hear people yelling for help. Police attended and located a person who was in medical distress. They were transported to hospital, where they were admitted.

Report of a person having been assaulted. Matter under investigation.

Report of a lost plane. The pilot later made contact.

 

August 6

Report of a person yelling and screaming outside a residence. Police attended and learned a person was trying to get the attention of their friends inside. The person was given a ride home.

Report of a missing patient from the hospital. The person was located and brought back.

Police requested to assist EMS with a call, however police were not needed upon arrival.

Report of an intoxicated person passed out on the Hundred Stairs. Police attended and arrested and lodged the person.

Report of a disturbance where a person was being chased away from a property. Police attended and located the subject of complaint, who was arrested and lodged. Matter under investigation.

Report of intoxicated family members causing issues in a residence. Police attended and learned the subjects of complaint had already left.

Report of a knife being thrown on a deck by a person running by. The knife was seized by police.

Report of an intoxicated family member causing problems in a residence. Police attended and arrested and lodged the subject of complaint.

Report of a collision involving a cyclist and a vehicle. Police attended and learned it was actually the cyclist who hit the vehicle.

 

August 7

Report of a suspicious person in a yard asking the homeowners to call police. The person requesting help refused to show their face, however.

Report of people loitering near a business. Police attended and moved the group along.

Report of a dispute between a couple, reported for information purposes.

Report of an attempted theft from a clothing store - however, the owner was able to retrieve the items.

Report of a possible theft/elder abuse. Matter under investigation.

Report of an intoxicated person loitering near a business. Police attended but the business was loiter-less.

Report of an intoxicated person trying to fight family members within a residence. Police attended and arrested and lodged the aggressor.

Report of an intoxicated person medically cleared but refusing to leave the hospital. Police attended and the person still refused to leave and requested to go to jail. Their wish was granted.

Report of a disturbance being heard on the street. Police made patrols but could not locate any disturbances.

Report of a disturbance outside a local bar. Police attended and found two intoxicated people causing a disturbance. Both were arrested and lodged.

 

August 8

Report of a domestic dispute in a residence. Police attended and arrested one intoxicated person. Police learned the dispute was only verbal. The person was lodged in cells, as they were not welcomed back when intoxicated.

Report of a vehicle theft. Police patrolled and found the vehicle still in the caller’s driveway after the call was received. The caller then stated their sibling borrowed it and forgot to tell them.

A third party report of a domestic dispute at a residence. Police attended and no one in the residence had a clue what the call was about.

Report of a fight beside a residence. Police attended, but learned the combatants had already left.

Report of a single-vehicle rollover. Police, fire, and EMS attended. No injuries on either person in the vehicle - not even a scratch. Driver fatigue believed to be a factor after a long day of fishing (however they advised they caught their limit.)

Report of an intoxicated person passed out in an ATM vestibule. Police attended and awoke the person who was arrested and lodged.

Report of an unlocked vehicle having been gone through.
