A summary of calls to police from April 25-May 1, as submitted by Flin Flon RCMP:
April 25
Report of a person threatening to jump off a parkade. Police made extensive patrols but could not locate anyone in the area where the call was reported to be taking place.
Report of a dispute between spouses when one came home after drinking and was being loud. The loud spouse left prior to police arrival.
Report of a firearm being located near a residence. Same seized, matter being investigated.
While on patrol, police came into contact with a very intoxicated person who was too intoxicated to care for themselves. The person was arrested and lodged.
Report of an alarm at a local safe haven. Police attended and deemed it was a false alarm.
Report of people looking through vehicles in a staff parking lot. Police learned it was other staff doing the peeking.
April 26
Report of a truck and trailer being tampered with, which caused damage to the trailer when the truck tried to pull it.
Report of an intoxicated person sleeping on the steps of a local book depository. The person was located, arrested and lodged.
Police requested to assist an ambulance with an intoxicated person. Police attended and found the person was not in medical distress, therefore they were arrested and lodged.
Report of intoxicated people trying to get into an apartment and they weren’t wanted there.
Report of people drinking on the sewer boxes.
Report of a person actively harming themselves. Police attended and arrested the person who was transported to hospital. There, they were assessed and deemed releasable. The person was driven to a family member’s residence.
Report of what sounded to be a domestic assault. Police attended but the victim and possible assailant were gone. Matter under investigation.
Report of an intoxicated sibling “blacking out” in a residence. Police attended and arrested and lodged the person.
Report of an intoxicated person chasing children in a playground. Police attended and learned the children were familiar with the person who was trying to get the kids ball. The person was located but was found to be too intoxicated to care for themselves, therefore they were arrested and lodged.
Report of a child threatening another child. Matter to be dealt with at the school level.
Third-party complaint about someone attempting to steal a vehicle. Police followed up with the owner of the vehicle who did not want charges laid.
April 27
Report of a break and enter to a residence. Matter under investigation.
Report of a person appearing to be pooping on the ground. Police attended and found no evidence to suggest this occurred, thankfully.
Police requested to keep an eye out for a person’s sibling as they were concerned about them being intoxicated. Police later learned the subject of complaint made it home.
Report of an intoxicated person sleeping in an ATM vestibule. Police attended and found the person as described, who was arrested and lodged. Police also located a person a little up the street very intoxicated. They were also arrested and lodged.
Report of a disturbance in an upstairs suite of an apartment building. Police attended and found two people had gotten into a consensual fight. The non-occupant left without issue.
Report of upstairs neighbours allegedly stomping on the floor of their suite disturbing the people below. Matter being looked into.
Report of an ongoing issue of possible harassment. The suspect was located, who had an outstanding warrant for their arrest. The person was arrested on the strength of the warrant and resisted arrest. The person was taken into custody, lodged and released to appear in court at a later date.
April 28
Report of a person being bear maced through an open window by an unknown assailant.
Report of two people being bear maced at their residence. The people recognized their assailant who was later located, arrested and lodged. The youth was later released to appear in court at a later date.
Report of a youth telling a child “they better run”. Unclear if this was meant as a threat.
Report of an intoxicated person trying to fight people. Police attended and found the person quite intoxicated. They were arrested and lodged.
Report of a person working on their vehicle which fell off its blocks and pinned the owner. Police and ambulance attended. The person was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Report of an intoxicated person threatening people in a bar. Police attended and found the original subject of complaint along with two other intoxicated people nearby. All three were too intoxicated to care for themselves and they were arrested and lodged.
Report of intoxicated people drinking on the steps of a business. Police attended and arrested three people. All were lodged in cells.
Report of an intoxicated person in a residence who was not wanted there. Police attended and found the person who was given a ride to their residence.
Shoplifting complaint at a local store. Matter under investigation.
Report of an online fraud. Matter under investigation.
Report of a possible domestic disturbance between two people pushing each other on the street. Police made patrols but found no one in the area.
April 29
Report of a domestic assault taking place in a hotel. Police attended and spoke to the victim and later located the assailant. The suspect was arrested, remanded in custody and eventually made bail. The person was charged with assault while choking and assault causing bodily harm.
911 call received to a residence. Police attended and learned a couple had a verbal argument but had now separated.
Report of a fight on Main Street. Police attended and found one of the participants who stated it was a consensual fight. The person was given a ride home. The other combatant was not located.
Police requested to conduct a wellbeing check on a person who said they were sad. Police attended and found the person was now happy.
Report of people intoxicated and passed out on the floor of a local hostel. Police attended and found three people matching the description. All were arrested and lodged.
Report of a break and enter to a residence where alcohol and cannabis were stolen.
Report of too many people being in a residence, breaching the provincial guidelines. Police attended and all people left, the homeowner was given a warning.
While on patrol, police came into contact with a person assaulting another. The person was arrested and lodged. The victim did not want their assailant charged.
Report of an intoxicated person attempting to get into a secure apartment complex. Police attended and found the person who was given a ride to a sober family member’s residence.
April 30
Report of an intoxicated person in a back alley. Police attended but did not locate the person.
Report of a person chasing another person with an axe. Police attended and spoke to the caller, who was incredibly intoxicated and it was evident they just needed a place to sleep. The person was arrested and lodged.
Report of unknown people smashing windows at a residence and vehicle. Matter under investigation.
Report of an intoxicated patient at the hospital who had been medically cleared but is too intoxicated to care for themselves. The person was arrested and lodged.
Report of a vehicle being taken without consent. The vehicle was later returned and the owner did not want anyone charged.
Report of a break and enter to a residence where the homeowner awoke to someone in their residence. Police attended but were unable to locate the suspect. Matter under investigation.
Report of a person sleeping in an ATM vestibule.
Report of an intoxicated sibling in a residence needing to be removed. Police attended but the person was gone.
Report of an intoxicated person in the hospital waiting room wanting to see their spouse but not understanding they could not. The person eventually fell asleep in the waiting room. The person was arrested and lodged.
Report of too many people in a residence, breaching a public health order.
Report of an intoxicated family member in a residence arguing with others and refusing to go to bed. The person was arrested and lodged.
May 1
Report of a sibling taking another’s iPad. The victim just wanted the device back.
Report of people being heard in a back alley during the early morning hours of an area that has had a rash of break-ins. Police attended but did not locate the suspects.
Report of an intoxicated parent attempting to break into their child’s residence. Police attended and found the parent still on scene. They were arrested and lodged.
A very young child reported his neighbour was being too loud. Police attended and found the neighbour was not home.
Report of erratic drivers and people parking the wrong way on a street.
Police requested to keep the peace while a person moved out of a residence. Police did just that - and did a really good job, too.
Report of ammunition being found in a yard during spring cleaning. Same seized and destroyed.
Report of a person inappropriately touching a person who was passed out. Police attended and found two people in the area. Both arrested as neither matched the description of the victim. Investigation revealed that the touching was a person trying to wake another, no malicious intent. Both people lodged due to advanced intoxication.
