A summary of calls to police made from Jan. 12-18, as submitted by Flin Flon RCMP:

Jan. 12           

Report of an intoxicated person wanting to talk to their ex. The homeowner asked the person do leave and they agreed to do so.

While on patrol, police made contact with a driver who appeared to be under the influence of marijuana. A blood sample was obtained. The matter is under investigation.

Report of a vehicle stolen from Winnipeg seen in Flin Flon. The owner of the stolen vehicle later called back advising they had made arrangements for the vehicle to be brought back and they no longer needed police involvement.

Report of an assault. After an investigation began, the following day, the complainant called stating they did not want police to investigate.

Report of an intoxicated person sleeping in an ATM lobby. While on scene, police were notified of another person sleeping in an ATM lobby across the street. Police collected both persons who were arrested and lodged in cells.

Report of an intoxicated person at the hospital having been medically cleared. Police transported the person to a sober adult.

Report of an intoxicated person at the hospital having been medically cleared. Unable to find a sober person to care for the adult therefore they were arrested and lodged.

 

Jan. 13

Report of a front window being smashed at a residence.

Report of people standing on a sidewalk in front of a business. Police did indeed find people on the sidewalk using the sidewalk as it was intended to be used. No arrests were made.

Report of a fight. Police attended and the apparent loser of said fight was still on scene. Police provided them a ride home in order to lick their wounds.

Report of an intoxicated person in a residence acting up and scaring kids. Police attended and arrested and lodged the scary person.

Police were requested to conduct a wellbeing check on a person after they texted something alarming to their sibling. Police attended and found the texter was fine, just wanted to push their sibling’s buttons.

Police requested to attend to a residence to have a talk with youth about not smoking marijuana. Police empowered the parent to have the talk themselves.

Report of person passed out in an ATM lobby. Police attended, woke the person and arrested and lodged them.

 

Jan. 14

Report of an intoxicated person sleeping in a business. Police attended and found the person as described who was arrested and lodged.

Report of person sleeping on the floor of the bathroom of the library. Police attended and found the person as described who was arrested and lodged.

 

Jan. 15

Report of an argument in a business between a group of people. Police attended but the participants were already gone.

Report of a person running around, maybe trying to get their steps in for the day? Police attended but could not find the lap runner.

Report of two people intoxicated and inside the lobby of a local hostel. Neither person had a place to go and given their intoxication level and incredibly cold weather, both were arrested and lodged.

Police requested to check on the wellbeing of occupants in a residence as a caller was concerned the parents were intoxicated with children in the residence. Police attended and found the parents were, in fact, sober.

Report of an intoxicated person in the waiting area of the hospital not needing medical attention and bothering patients. Police attended and found the subject of complaint who was arrested and lodged as they had no place to go.

Report of an intoxicated person leaving a residence, home owner is concerned given the temperature outside. Police were able to locate the subject of complaint who was given a ride to a sober friend’s residence.

 

Jan. 16

Report of a group of people pushing each other around in front of a business.

Report of an intoxicated person passed out on the bathroom floor at the hospital. The person was not in medical distress and was arrested and lodged.

Report of a person who had been served an eviction notice having people in their apartment.

 

Jan. 17

(Editor’s note: Two men were injured in an early morning shooting in Flin Flon on Jan. 17. The report as submitted did not mention this.)

Report of a youth going into a business stating they were being chased by older kids. Police located the youth who was being chased, who was fine and could not or would not state who was chasing them.

Report of person having ideations of self harm. Police and ambulance attended and the person volunteered to go to the hospital.

Report of a dog biting a person. Matter referred to city dog catcher.

Report of an intoxicated person passed out in lobby of hostel. Ambulance attended and transported the person to the hospital where they were later medically cleared and lodged in cells.

Report of person passing out in the hospital waiting area. Police attended and shooed the person away.

Report of an intoxicated person passed out behind a residence. Police attended and arrested and lodged the person.

Report of an intoxicated youth trashing a residence. Police attended and located the youth mid-tantrum. The youth was arrested and lodged.

 

Jan. 18

Report of a two vehicle collision. Police, fire and ambulance attended and quickly cleared the intersection. Nothing criminal occurred.

Report of person passed out in lobby of hostel. Police attended and had ambulance transport the person to hospital. The person made a miraculous recovery and was later arrested and lodged.

Report of an intoxicated person in a local restaurant who has been banned from the premises. Police attended, asked the person to move along, they refused therefore they were arrested and lodged.

Multiple calls received of a person causing a disturbance in a residence however when police arrived no disturbance was located.

Report of person passed out on the floor of a local restaurant. Police attended and located a person covered in Doritos (or in this case, Floor-itos). The person was arrested and lodged.

While on patrol, police located an intoxicated person too intoxicated to care for themselves. The person was arrested and lodged.

Report of an intoxicated person passed out in hostel lobby. Police attended and located the person as described who was arrested and lodged.
