A summary of police calls from July 19-25, as submitted by Flin Flon RCMP:
July 19
Report of a person passed out on a quad trail. Police and ambulance attended, but the person had departed.
Report of a missing youth. The youth was located at their romantic partner’s residence. Neither party was happy to see the police.
911 hang up call from a residence. Police attended and learned someone had called but then realized they didn’t need police after all. The homeowners then wanted the caller to be removed, as they didn’t appreciate the police showing up to their house.
Several calls of a party getting out of hand. Callers were reporting people with weapons were in the area and someone was trying to smash a window. Police attended and took one person in custody. Everyone else ran away.
While on patrol, police located a very impaired person stumbling down the street. The person was arrested and lodged for their own safety.
Report of a person having fallen down some stairs. Police and ambulance attended but were informed the person had a friend come along and take them home.
Report of a person attending a residence, getting into a physical altercation with a person within and then threatening people if they called police. The matter is under investigation.
Report of a break and enter to a garage.
Report of an unlocked vehicle having been gone through.
July 20
Report of a break and enter to a garage and a side-by-side was stolen. A report of a vehicle having been stolen was received shortly after. The side-by-side and vehicle were both recovered and one person has been arrested in connection with both incidents. They were later released to appear in court in the near future. The investigation is ongoing.
Report of a break and enter to a garage.
Report of an attempted theft from a local clothing store. The store owner was able to get the items back from the wannabe thief.
Police requested to assist in having people vacate a residence.
Report of a patient leaving the hospital before being medically cleared by a doctor. Police located the person, who agreed to return to the hospital on their own.
Report of an intoxicated person smashing a residence. Police attended and found the smasher who was arrested and lodged. The person was later released to appear in court at a later date.
Report of an intoxicated person trying to get into a person’s vehicle who was unknown to them. It appeared as though someone was trying to stop the person.
Report of an intoxicated person passed out in an ATM vestibule. They were arrested and lodged.
Report of a group of people yelling gang names at one another. Police patrolled the area but didn't find any gangstas.
July 21
Report of a person panhandling on Main Street. Police attended and educated them that panhandling is a no-no.
Report of a family of bears on a walk together - which is really nice, when you think about it.
Report of an unknown situation at a residence. Police attended and learned there was a verbal argument but the parties separated before things escalated.
Report of an intoxicated person with injuries stumbling around. Police attended and took the person to the hospital where they were medically assessed. The hospital called when the person was medically cleared and police arrested and lodged the individual.
Report of a person being assaulted by an unknown person in a seemingly random occurrence. Matter is under investigation.
Report of a person at a beach photographing children and criticizing parenting skills. The caller wanted this reported for information purposes and will call should this occur again.
While on patrol, police located an intoxicated person sleeping in an ATM vestibule. The person was arrested and lodged.
Report of an argument between roommates. Police attended and they both agreed to leave one another alone for the rest of the night.
While on patrol, police located a very intoxicated person too intoxicated to care for themselves. The person was arrested and lodged.
Report of a group of suspicious people doing suspicious things at a suspicious time. Police attended and cleared all of any suspicion.
July 22
Report of a trio of people walking through yards and peering through vehicle windows. Patrols were made but the group was not located.
Police were requested to assist EMS with an uncooperative patient. Police arrived and the patient refused treatment and left on their own.
Report of an intoxicated youth banging on the door of a residence and yelling at the people inside. The homeowners did not want the youth charged. Police made patrols but did not locate the youth.
Report of a fight between two groups where one person was allegedly threatening to poke another person with a dirty needle. The accused and their counterpart were arrested. The victim did not want charges laid in the matter.
Report of an intoxicated youth in a residence trying to fight people within. Police attended and arrested and lodged the youth.
While on patrol, an intoxicated person jumped in front of a police vehicle and put their hands up as if they were being arrested. Their wish was granted and they were arrested and lodged in cells.
Police were notified of an intoxicated person having just woken up and walking down the street with a large cut on their head. The person was located, taken to hospital for their injury, medically treated and lodged.
Report of people on ATVs riding in a school yard. Police attended but the subjects were gone upon arrival.
Report of people being bear sprayed by someone. Matter is under investigation.
Report of a person loaning their vehicle out to a friend and the friend refusing to give it back.
Report of an intoxicated person having fallen and injured themselves. Police located the injured party who was taken to hospital and treated.
Report of a person being seen in Flin Flon despite being on court conditions to not be in the city. Police attended but were unable to locate the breacher.
July 23
Report of an intoxicated person at the hospital having been medically cleared but being too intoxicated to release on their own. Police attended and attempted to find alternative lodging for the person, however could not, therefore they were arrested and lodged.
Report of a person having been bear sprayed. Matter under investigation.
Report of an intoxicated youth acting erratically. The youth was located at their residence and a parent agreed to care for them.
Report of yelling being heard in a back alley. Police had already dealt with the matter prior to the call being received.
Report of a person needing to be removed from a residence. While on route, police learned the person removed themselves.
Report of a vehicle being taken without owner’s consent. Police located the vehicle which was retrieved by the owner. The owner did not want charges.
Report of a person trying to get into another person’s apartment. Police attended and learned the person was legitimately sleepwalking.
Report of an intoxicated person passed out on steps. Police located the person as described who was arrested and lodged.
Report of a group of people drinking and fighting in a back alley. Police attended but everyone was gone.
Report of a person going to a residence and demanding property back. Police learned it was a case of mistaken identity.
While on patrol, police located an intoxicated person passed out on the street. The person was arrested and lodged.
Report of a break and enter to a residence. Matter under investigation.
Report of a person allegedly dragging someone into a residence against their will. Police attended and spoke to the occupants in the residence who advised it was a big misunderstanding.
July 24
Report of two intoxicated people kicking the door of a residence and trying to fight people within. Police attended and arrested the tag team who were lodged in cells.
Report of an intoxicated person passed out on the dock of a beach. Police attended and located a person who was on court conditions to abide by a daily curfew and abstain from alcohol. The person was arrested, lodged and later released to appear in court at a later date.
Report of an intoxicated person having been medically cleared by hospital staff but is too intoxicated to release on their own. Police attended and drove the person to a sober friend.
Report of two people fighting. Police attended and learned it was a consensual fight.
Report of a youth who stated she was going through a rough patch in their life. Police attended but could not find the reported youth.
Report of a group of people approaching a person demanding they get them cigarettes and other addictive items. Police located the group and one of the group quickly talked themselves into getting arrested and lodged.
Report of an intoxicated person refusing to leave a hotel lobby. Police attended and found the person who had now left, but required medical attention for an injury. The person’s friends took them to the hospital.
Report of an argument between roommates. Police attended and discussed the possibility of them finding different living arrangements.
Report of an intoxicated person laying on the street. Police attended and found the person still laying there. They were arrested and lodged.
Report of a dirt bike speeding down the street.
Report of an intoxicated person crying on the street. Police attended and arrested and lodged the sad person as they had no place to go.
Report of an intoxicated person bothering patrons in a local bar. Police attended and found the person now on the street yelling. The person was arrested and lodged.
July 25
Report of a family member breaking into a residence and trying to fight people within. Police attended and arrested and lodged the door breaker.
Report of a bear loitering in a back alley. Police attended but could not locate the bear to issue a loitering bylaw ticket.
Report of siblings fighting one another in a residence. Police attended but the fight was now broken up and one of the siblings left.
Report of an ATV having been located wedged between stairs at a property. The ATV was towed away.
Report of a person presenting themselves at the hospital experiencing hallucinations, however leaving prior to being seen by a doctor. Police located the patient who agreed to go back.
Report of people fighting one another on the street. Police attended and took the aggressor into custody, who was lodged.
Report from a person concerned about the wellbeing of a dog having been tied up while their owner went into a building. Police were unable to attend as they were dealing with other matters involving humans.
Report of an intoxicated person having been medically cleared by hospital staff, however was too intoxicated to release on their own. Police attempted to find a place to take the person too, however could not, therefore they were arrested and lodged.
Report of an armed robbery. Three suspects were taken into custody - one adult was remanded in custody, one adult was released on a future court appearance and one youth was released on a future court appearance.
Report of an intoxicated person having left a residence planning on hitch hiking to The Pas. Police located the person who was arrested. The person was released to appear in court at a later date
Report of a rock being thrown through a window. Police attended but the complainant did not see anyone nor had any idea who threw the rock.
