A documentary film on Flin Flon’s maroon and white winter institution has entered the final stretch.

New York-based Greencard Pictures sent a crew to the community last winter to gather footage for a film on the Flin Flon Bombers.

“We are wrapping up post-production right now and expect to be finished in the next couple weeks,” producer Dustin Cohen told The Reminder earlier this month.

The Greencard crew conducted a number of interviews with Flin Flonners and Bomber players and personnel in February.

They also shot footage during the Bombers’ 11-0 win over the La Ronge Ice Wolves at the Whitney Forum. It was the Bombers’ free-ticket night, with more than 1,500 fans in attendance.

Distribution and broadcast plans for the as-yet-untitled documentary are not confirmed, but Cohen said the crew plans to return to Flin Flon to show the film.

“While there is no official broadcast plan, the team will be hosting a screening of the film at some point in the next few months in Flin Flon,” he said. “We’re all very excited and proud of the film, and look forward to being able to share it with everyone.”

The Greencard production is one of two broadcast projects that involved the Bombers last season.

Also last winter, a TSN production crew visited Flin Flon to shoot a brief feature about Bobby Clarke.

Clarke returned to the Whitney Forum during shooting, dropping a puck in a ceremonial faceoff before a game against the Humboldt Broncos.

TSN did not return a request for an update on the status of that project.
