Both the Town of Creighton and the Northern Village of Denare Beach are continuing their efforts to combat the spread of COVID-19.

All playgrounds, beaches and the Denareplex bunk have been closed by the Village because the facilities cannot be properly sanitized. Creighton's local administration has taken similar steps, closing playground facilities throughout the community.

Both municipalities are urging residents to avoid groups of 10 people or more, to self-isolate for two weeks following travel and follow guidelines from the Saskatchewan government and the provincial chief medical officer.

Both the Denare Beach village office and the Creighton town office are closed to the public, but municipal employees remain working. Each community may make different moves as the outbreak goes forward, including what may happen if some variety of shut down be deemed necessary. Both will continue to provide water, sewer and fire services throughout the outbreak.

Currently we are following the Provincial requirements and paying careful attention to all announcements, whether Provincial or Federal," said Denare Beach chief administrative officer Meredith Norman.

Questions regarding COVID-19 that are not relating immediately to health will be referred to the provincial website set up for the outbreak at saskatchewan.ca/covid-19 or the provincial COVID-19 toll-free number at 1-855-559-5502.
