The legislative review committee responsible for conducting a review of Manitoba’s Workers Compensation Act launched its public consultation Tuesday.

By law, a comprehensive review of the Act must take place every 10 years. A four-member committee will oversee the current review.

A 90-day public consultation period will remain open until Feb. 15, 2017.  The review committee will accept submissions online at www.wcbactreview.com or by fax at 204-954-4968.

“We will use public contributions to help guide the Workers Compensation Act into the future,” said Growth, Enterprise and Trade Minister Cliff Cullen.

Interested Manitobans are invited to visit the committee’s website, www.wcbactreview.com, to learn more about the mandate and scope of the review.

Once the public consultation period ends, the committee will review all submissions and prepare a report for consideration by the Manitoba government.
