City website gets overhaul, phone app launch

Flin Flon’s new municipal website is up and online.

The beta version of the new site and the accompanying app officially launched Nov. 8, including a section for local notices, events, facility updates and other City-related information. The new site also features a frequently asked questions page designed with questions often asked to City Hall staff in mind, including how to make payments for property tax and utilities, landfill hours, tax assessment questions, animal control and bylaw enforcement.

Since the website is still in the early stages of release, City officials are working with the developers, Winnipeg-based All-Net Municipal Solutions, to fix any potential bugs.

“There was a little bit of feedback, which is what we were seeking,” said Lyn Brown, treasurer for the City of Flin Flon.

“It's a fairly extensive website and there's a lot of opportunity for really good things to go on with that website. It was nice to get it out because there were a couple little things that we hadn't seen. We got some feedback, worked with the developer and corrected those right away. Everything is continuing to be on track.”

The accompanying app serves many of the same functions as the website, simplifying the functions for touchscreen smartphones.

“I've had a lot of comments come up. People are excited about that,” said Brown.

The new City site can be found at, while the app can be found on the website, on the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.
