Flin Flon city council worked out items regarding the Flin Flon Airport during their first meeting of 2019.
Council approved contracts relating to the airport, approving a terminal rental agreement for A Touch of Class, the gift shop located within the airport terminal. Council also ratified and approved an agreement for janitorial services for the terminal and approved and ratified two leases for hangar lots on the airport property.
Tax auction
A date has been set for the next Flin Flon tax auction.
City council set an official date for Flin Flon’s annual sale of in-arrears properties. The auction will be held on Nov. 5 at city hall, starting at 10 am. Each of the properties available would have outstanding taxes, dating back to 2017.
Meeting move
Council also chose to move the next council meeting from Jan. 22 to Jan. 29.
The previously scheduled time slot would put the meeting at roughly the same time as the upcoming Flin Flon tourism summit, scheduled for the same evening at the Creighton Community Centre. Several council members are planning to attend the summit.
