Charges laid in Deschambault Lake attempted murder

A man has been arrested in connection to a double stabbing in Deschambault Lake last month. RCMP were notified on Dec. 29 that two men had been stabbed at a home in Deschambault Lake and were being driven to the community’s medical clinic.

A man has been arrested in connection to a double stabbing in Deschambault Lake last month.

RCMP were notified on Dec. 29 that two men had been stabbed at a home in Deschambault Lake and were being driven to the community’s medical clinic.

After investigating, RCMP determined someone had come to the home to assault one of the men.

Both men suffered multiple stab wounds, with one stabbed in the face, neck, arm back and chest. The other man was stabbed while trying to stop the attacker. Both victims were treated and released.

A 21-year-old man from Deschambault Lake was arrested on Dec. 30 and faces charges of attempted murder without firearm, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, disguise with intent to commit an offence and resisting or obstructing a peace officer. The man made his first appearance in court in La Ronge on Jan. 4.
