Three people have been charged and remanded after a pair of unsuccessful muggings in uptown Flin Flon.

Two incidents, both on Jan. 10, were reported to local RCMP. The first involved an unknown assailant assaulting a woman and trying to steal items from her. Later in the day, another person was held up and had alcohol stolen from them by unknown robbers.

Three people were located and arrested in relation to the first incident and fought back against police when arrested.

The arrests lead to charges including robbery, assault, breaching court orders, assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest and others.

Two other arrests were made in connection to the second incident, including one person who was also a part of the first reported attack. The other arrested person was released on a promise to appear in court. Charges of robbery, choking to overcome resistance to an offence and breach of court orders were issued.

No injuries were reported in either incident. Both the robbery and attempted robbery took place in the uptown Flin Flon area. No items were recovered, with the stolen alcohol likely consumed. RCMP have identified the three people arrested as being Flin Flon residents and “habitual offenders.”
