The first Flin Flon luncheon of the fall season was held at the Viscount Gort Hotel on Oct. 3. There were 55 guests in attendance.
It was a rather brisk, chilly day for the beginning of October but that didn’t deter those who came to enjoy the company of “old” friends and dine on a delicious roast beef dinner.
There were announcements of an upcoming Flin Flon Heritage Project fundraiser and the promise of a repeat five-year reunion in conjunction with the 2015 Trout Festival in Flin Flon.
We also celebrated a special birthday for Virginia Hovorka, who was celebrating her 90th birthday.
Although we didn’t have any newcomers this time, Dave and Wendy Paton came in from Kenora, Ontario, for the luncheon. They have attended the luncheon in the past.
