Mark your calendars – the CFL's top prize is coming to Flin Flon.
The Grey Cup will be available for photos Feb. 10 at the R.H. Channing Auditorium. The cup will be on display between 3 p.m.-6 p.m. The City of Flin Flon announced the event online Feb. 6.
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers won the title this past season, ending a decades-long drought and winning the championship for the first time since 1990. Blue Bomber players Thomas Miles and John Rush will be making the trip to Flin Flon alongside the cup.
The Grey Cup was last in the area in 2015, when an entourage of former Blue Bombers brought the trophy north in September as part of a cooperative trip between Via Rail, Travel Manitoba, Canadian Tire Jumpstart and the Winnipeg Free Press. The Lombardi Trophy, awarded to the NFL's champion, was brought to a display in Flin Flon in November 2016.
